$$ – When I first laid eyes on the Kuiu Base Camp Insulated Shirt, I knew it was love at first sight. It’s the kind of rugged, outdoorsy apparel that speaks to me on a profound level. I’m not saying I’d take this shirt out to a fancy restaurant or anything. No, this is the kind of shirt you wear when you’re out there in the thick of it all, battling the elements, and showing Mother Nature who’s boss. And let me tell you, this shirt is up to the task. It’s warm, it’s durable, and it’s got all the right features to make it one hell of a shirt. If you’re looking for a shirt that can take a beating and still come out on top, the Kuiu Base Camp Insulated Shirt is the one for you.

$$ – When it comes to a rugged look, you don’t want to compromise comfort for style. Fortunately, the Marine Layer Olin Quilted Over Shirt has got you covered like a warm hug from your grandpa. This thing is not your basic flannel shirt, oh no. It’s got some extra quilting action going on to keep you cozy when the temps drop. But don’t think that means you’re going to be walking around looking like the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man. This shirt is slim fit and stylish, so you can show off your rugged side without sacrificing your fashion sense.  Your grandpa would be proud.

$$ – Hitting the trails I was excited to try out the LL Bean Insulated Utility Shirt Jacket. Let me tell you, this thing is more rugged than a grizzly bear and almost as cozy as snuggling up with a wolverine (not recommended). The insulation kept me toasty warm on a chilly fall camping trip, while the sturdy fabric and reinforced stitching held up when I foolishly decided to test my tree-climbing skills. And the best part? It looks damn good. I highly recommend this jacket to any man who wants to feel both manly and comfortable while exploring the great outdoors.
